Welcome to GenZAgainstFakes! I am a passionate teenager dedicated to raising awareness about the dangers of counterfeit products. My mission is to empower young consumers to make informed decisions and embrace authenticity in their purchases. I believe that by educating myself and my peers about the importance of genuine products, I can help create a community that values quality, creativity, and integrity. At GenZAgainstFakes, I aim to inspire action and foster a culture that rejects counterfeits while supporting the brands who put their heart into their work.

Our engaging podcast dives deep into the world of counterfeits, featuring discussions on the latest trends, consumer experiences, and the impact of fakes on our society. Most importantly, we do it in a way that talks to GenZ.

 2. Interviews with Professionals

We conduct insightful interviews with industry professionals, including brand representatives, legal experts, and anti-counterfeiting advocates and institutions. These conversations provide valuable perspectives on the challenges posed by counterfeiting and highlight the importance of protecting intellectual property.

 3. Newsletter/Blog

Our newsletter and blog serve as a hub for the latest news, articles, and resources related to counterfeits and authenticity. Subscribers can expect regular updates on trends, tips for making informed purchases, and stories from individuals who have experienced the impact of counterfeit products. This platform fosters a community of informed consumers who are passionate about supporting genuine brands.

4. Educational Events

We work with institutional partners like the International Trademark Association (www.inta.org), US Customs and Border Protection, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (https://www.uspto.gov/learning-and-resources/kids-educators) and INDICAM (https://www.indicam.it/?lang=en) to educate the youth about the risks and dangers of buying and trading in counterfeit goods. We go to schools and colleges to all over the world to educate and empower students to make safe choices and say no to fakes!

What we Teach

Understanding Counterfeits

We provide a lexicon about counterfeiting that GenZ can understand. We define counterfeits, explaining what they are and how they differ from genuine products. Counterfeits are fake branded items that imitate the design and quality of authentic products, often without the brand owner's consent.

The Gen Z Perspective

As the generation that buys the most counterfeits, Gen Z's relationship with these products is complex. We explore why many in this demographic are drawn to counterfeits, often due to financial constraints and the influence of social media. Most of All we want to speak with them and use this platform to engage GenZers in this discussion.

The Societal Impact

We delve into the broader consequences of counterfeiting, including health and safety risks associated with fake products, economic impacts on legitimate businesses, and the ethical considerations surrounding the support of counterfeit markets. This section emphasizes the importance of recognizing how purchasing decisions can affect not just individuals, but also communities and industries.



Why it matters

Counterfeits are more than a trademark infringement; they pose significant health risks to consumers, are a danger to legitimate businesses and the job market, while disincentivize investments in legitimate creativity. Here’s why fighting against counterfeits is essential.

  • Economic Impact: Purchasing fakes harms legitimate businesses, leading to lost revenue and job losses. This undermines the economy and stifles innovation.
